This is my graduate work composed for Carnegie Mellon University. This was the result of many long hours of composing; from using a mini keyboard while driving to Florida for vacation to being sequestered in my studio for days at a time. This became such a passion project during my final year at Carnegie Mellon and it was a profound experience seeing it performed. Special thanks to Nancy Galbraith for being an amazing teacher and mentor, to Daniel Curtis for organizing the performances every year and ensuring the composers’ music of CMU is heard, to Guy Bordo for conducting this so wonderfully and helping my vision become reality, and to the CMU Philharmonic for working so hard and performing this piece with such excellence.
